Notion AI

AI that lives inside the wiki you already use.

Notion AI adds a layer of intelligence to the wiki and project tool that millions of teams already use daily. You can ask it to summarise a 50-page technical spec, extract action items from meeting notes, draft a PRD from bullet points, or answer questions across your entire workspace — all without leaving Notion or exporting data to an external AI tool. The Q&A feature is particularly useful for onboarding: new team members can query the workspace and get synthesised answers from scattered documentation.

The critical limitation is that Notion AI cannot access the internet — it only knows what is in your workspace and its training data. This makes it powerful for internal knowledge management but the wrong tool for research, current events or external reference checks. The $10/user/month add-on is fair for teams that live in Notion, but it is genuinely only valuable if Notion is already your primary workspace. If your team uses Confluence, Linear or Notion lightly, ChatGPT or Claude with file upload will be more flexible at a similar price.

Toolsift Verdict

Notion AI is an excellent AI layer for existing Notion power users — the Q&A and meeting notes features alone justify the $10/user/mo price. If your team is not already deep in Notion, a standalone AI assistant will serve you better.

✓ Pros

  • Lives where your data already is — no export required
  • Excellent meeting notes summarisation and action item extraction
  • Cross-workspace Q&A synthesises scattered documentation
  • Affordable add-on for teams on Notion Business

✗ Cons

  • No internet access — limited to workspace knowledge and training data
  • Generation quality below standalone tools like ChatGPT or Claude
  • Only worthwhile if Notion is already your primary workspace
